AAI Corporation, an operating unit of Textron Systems, a Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT) company, announced today that its family of Training Aids, Devices, Simulators, and Simulations (TADSS) has been selected to support training for Army National Guard units operating the RQ-7B Shadow Tactical Unmanned Aircraft Systems (TUAS).

Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) will produce a Close Combat Tactical Trainer (CCTT) Reconfigurable Vehicle Simulator and the Reconfigurable Vehicle Tactical Trainer (RVTT/CCTT-RVS) for the U.S. Army, providing Soldiers with the latest skills to defeat adaptive and intelligent adversaries. The initial one-year contract valued at $37 million has three options which, if exercised, could bring the total contract value to $147 million.

 
ECS to Bring Medical Training to Baghdad

Engineering & Computer Simulations (ECS) announced today that it received a $1.4 million contract award from the U.S. Army Research, Development and Engineering Command, Simulation and Training Technology Center (RDECOM-STTC) to adapt its US-Nexus (a National Guard sponsored program that provides a secure persistent virtual world capability for training and collaboration) to meet the U.S. Army’s constantly evolving medical training requirements.  A primary component of this work entails accessing the virtual world features through internet-enabled mobile devices which are becoming more prevalent in the Army’s workforce.

USSOCOM Training and Qualification Management System

The Harrington Group has been selected to develop and implement an enterprise training and qualification management system for the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), headquartered in Tampa, FL. The system will be used to record, track and report training and qualifications for military personnel from each of the services who are assigned to USSOCOM, Theatre Special Operations Commands, and affiliated units.

"Air Combat Command said Monday (Aug. 18) that it wants to install a formal training unit for MQ-1 and MQ-9 unmanned aerial vehicle operations at Holloman AFB, N.M. Currently the service has only one FTU, which is at Creech AFB, Nev."

DEI Delivers UH 60L Trainer to Army Nat. Guard

DEI Services Corp announced today that it has delivered the 1st Blackhawk Helicopter, full-scale, high fidelity, remove and replace training device (BHRRT) to the US Army National Guards Eastern Aviation Training Command (EAATS). The UH-60L Black Hawk Remove and Replace Task Trainer provides transition and readiness training which prepares the Black Hawk maintenance personnel to maintain the aircraft. This trainer is replacing the CAT-B airframe currently being used for remove and replace training
 
Boeing Receives Contract for C-17 Trainer

Boeing has developed, operates and supports nine continental U.S. C-17 ATS sites and expects to expand to three more within and outside the continental United States by 2010.
