With more than $3 million in stimulus funds under the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act, WORKFORCE CENTRAL FLORIDA (WCF) has created the Summer Job Connection, a program that will pay the wages of 1,200 economically disadvantaged young adults ages 16 – 24 to work with local employers. WCF will pay the wages of the young adults in the program, who may work up to 35 hours a week at $8 per hour for six weeks (about 100 participants will also work in a 28-week program in select targeted industries).
WCF is searching for companies in STEM, green industries, emerging industries, and healthcare, as well as nonprofit and government organizations to apply. We were wondering if it would be possible for you to share this information with your company HR department.
