Rock 'n Roll Legend turned Defense Expert Jeffrey "Skunk" Baxter visits NCS

NCS had the honor of hosting Mr. Jeffrey “Skunk” Baxter for lunch today, along with Dr. Randall Shumaker, Dr. Ted Reynolds, Jack Stubbs and Dr. Michael Macedonia of UCF.

Some of us remember “Skunk” as a founding member of the rock group Steely Dan or as a member of the Doobie Brothers. However, he has combined his creative talents and intellectual capabilities to become one of the national-security world’s most well-known counterterrorism experts. In this role, Baxter helps both policy makers and defense contractors better understand the way terrorists think and plan attacks.

In addition, Baxter works regularly for the Department of Defense and the nation’s intelligence community, chairs a congressional advisory board on missile defense, and has lucrative consulting contracts. We discussed a number of possible roles for UCF and the MS&T industry to provide additional support of our nation’s defense community.

NCS COO George Cheros, NCS Board Chairman Brian Holmes and NCS Board Member Dr. Randy Shumaker presented Jeff with an Honorary NCS Practitioner Membership and he was kind enough to autograph some items for our NCS Golf Tournament Silent Auction.
