AEgis Technologies Wins SIMAF Contract

Dayton, Ohio (April 13, 2012)-The AEgis Technologies Group is one of three companies awarded a contract valued up to $80 million for the Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC), the Aeronautical System Center (ASC), Requirements and Capabilities Integration Directorate (XR), Modeling Simulation & Analysis Division (ASC/XRA) and the Simulation and Analysis Facility (SIMAF), located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.  The indefinite delivery indefinite quantity award allows AEgis to compete for individual services task orders and product delivery orders issued over the next five years under the omnibus umbrella contract.

The ASC/XRA Directorate required performance-based services to support capabilities managers with integrated analyses for future capabilities development.  The contract requires Modeling Simulation & Analysis (MS&A), software development and integration services across the Airborne Network, Electronic Warfare, Unmanned Aerial Systems and Human Factors domains.

“This is a milestone opportunity for the company to further establish our presence in Dayton and continue our growth in supporting the Air Force,” said Steve Hill, AEgis President and CEO.  “We look forward to the collaborative environment SIMAF will provide to address current and future Air Force capabilities in support of Air Force decision makers and the overall pursuit of increased mission effectiveness for our Warfighters.”

The ASC/XRA SIMAF facility provides capabilities analyses and integration across program acquisition life cycles and addresses System of System (SOS) concepts for future capabilities. SIMAF utilizes both constructive and virtual (real time, human-in-the-loop) simulation and analysis with high fidelity, synthetic battle spaces to evaluate network-enabled warfighting capabilities to allow decision makers to increase mission effectiveness, accelerate acquisition, mitigate risk, and reduce system development and total operation costs.

“The SIMAF win gives us another great opportunity to continue to support the Warfighter and the DoD Acquisition community in an area that is firmly in the ‘sweet spot’ of AEgis’ corporate capabilities – namely distributed simulation and analysis. We’re very much looking forward to helping SIMAF to maintain its place as one of the world leaders in modeling, simulation and analysis over the forseeable future,” said Pat Cannon, AEgis Vice President for Western Operations.
