The Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) is the world’s largest organization devoted exclusively to advancing unmanned systems. This international community of unmanned systems experts, operators, and manufacturers has a total membership of nearly 6,000 individuals and 2,100 organizations from 55 countries. The AUVSI annual conference, Unmanned Systems North America, attracts over 6,000 delegates from over 30 countries. Most delegates are commercial and defense operators, CEOs and high-level decision-makers, government and industry program managers, policy makers, scientists, researchers, or students. AUVSI’s Unmanned Systems magazine reaches 18,000 readers worldwide monthly, and the Unmanned Systems eBrief reaches a total of 25,000 readers monthly.
There are over 25 chapters in the United States that promote and realize the AUVSI mission. The Florida Peninsula Chapter is a platform for advancing unmanned systems throughout the peninsula region of Florida stretching from Tallahassee to the Florida Keys excluding only the panhandle region. The chapter’s primary role is to foster innovative collaborations between government, academic, and industrial communities with focus on using modeling and simulation technologies to promote unmanned systems development. The chapter’s goal is to integrate modeling and simulation technologies into Florida’s unmanned systems industry and to increase the research, development, and manufacturing of unmanned systems in Florida.
The Florida Peninsula Chapter supports these objectives by:
Organizing quarterly events for exchanging ideas, information, and contacts
Promoting unmanned systems education of the membership and general public
Paving the way for smooth integration of systems into society
Uniting and leading the unmanned systems community
Having student competitions to encourage science and engineering interests
