The guest speaker, MR. JOE GUINTA, Executive Director/PARC, U.S. Army Contracting Command-Orlando, will provide comments regarding trends in Army Contracting and may touch on some thoughts on how Industry will interact with the programmatic elements for work coming to ACC Orlando from outside PEO STRI. He’ll also update us on who will be participating in the upcoming TSIS and of course remind us of the upcoming celebration of the Army’s 242nd Birthday on 14 June.

Speaker Biography: Mr. Giunta is the Executive Director and Principal Assistant Responsible for Contracting (PARC) for the Army Contracting Command, a major contracting center of the U.S. Army Contracting Command, located at Orlando, Florida. In his capacity as Executive Director, Mr. Giunta leads a contracting staff of 181 contracting professionals responsible for the oversight and execution of a multi-billion dollar portfolio. As the senior contracting official supporting the Army’s Training Support System (TSS) portfolio he provides tailored contracting solutions and business advice in support of a diverse customer base to include Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI). Prior to his appointment into Federal service as a Department of Army civilian he held a variety of command and staff positions as an Armor Officer and in the Army Acquisition Corps in both Contracting and Program Management. Mr. Giunta has served as a Deputy Director of Acquisition and Director of Contracting. During his military career, Mr. Giunta served in multiple combat operations. His last military assignment was as Product Manager, Ground Combat Tactical Trainers, Program Executive Office, Simulation, Training and Instrumentation. Mr. Giunta’s awards and decorations are numerous, and include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal and Superior Civilian Service Award. Mr. Giunta is also a member of the Order of Saint George, Order of Saint Maurice and Order of Saint Barbara. Mr. Giunta is a graduate of both the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, and the Defense Systems Management College. His formal education includes a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from Catawba College, Salisbury, NC and a Master of Arts Degree in Public Administration from Framingham State College, Framingham, MA. Mr. Giunta is a member of the National Contract Management Association, the Army Acquisition Corps and holds Level III Certifications in both Contracting and Program Management.
