Job Description The Institute for Simulation and Training (IST) at the University of Central Florida (UCF) invites applications for the position for research assistant. Our current research focuses on simulation and training technologies.
Minimum Qualifications A high school diploma and three years of appropriate experience. Appropriate vocational/technical/manufacturers training may substitute for two years of the required experience. If minimum requirements of the position do not require post high school education, an applicant is not required to provide the information on the application.
Preferences Recent graduate student pursuing a Master’s degree from an accredited institution, preferably in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science. Applicants from other academic disciplines that are related to modeling and simulation will be considered.
We are particularly interested in applicants with experience in the following areas:
• Embedded processor and microcontroller board customization
o Knowledge of common boards such as Arduino and Raspberry Pi
• Custom circuit designs and implementation
• CAD software knowledge for rapid prototype
• Prior experience with Oscilloscope
• Software development in C/C++/Java/Sketch
• Compilers: Visual Studio, GCC, Aduino
• Knowledge of common digital and analog inertial sensors
• Knowledge of Virtual Machines
• Internet Networking Protocols
• Head Mounted Displays such as Oculus Rift
• Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality

Special Conditions This position is a 40 hours full-time funded by contracts and grants (C&G).
US citizenship and the ability to attain security clearance are required due to job location.
