Date: June 1, 2011
Location: Huntsville, Alabama

The AEgis Technologies Group is part of the FAAC Team that was awarded a $63.4 million contract for the Virtual Clearance Training Suite (VCTS) by the U.S. Army Program Executive Office of Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI). FAAC is a member of the Training and Simulation Division of Arotech Corporation (NasdaqGM: ARTX). The VCTS contract requires the development and delivery of training systems to train the ever-evolving tactics and techniques used by the U.S. Army to combat Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), and includes driver training simulators for Route Clearance vehicles as well as other robotic systems trainers. AEgis will be responsible in the first phase for designing, fabricating and delivering 56 Talon Mark IIIb robot training simulators. Talons IIIb robots are used primarily for removing or destroying IEDs or other bombs without putting war fighters or law enforcement personnel at risk. The subcontract also includes an optional second phase to build six simulators for the Light Flail system which is a remotely operated, track propelled, armor plated system designed to clear anti-personnel (AP) minefields.
