Matthew J. Thompson joins Cole Engineering Services, Inc. as new Chief Operating Officer

Bryan Cole, CEO of Cole Engineering, announced on November 7, 2011, the appointment of Matt Thompson as his new COO. Matt Thompson joins the Leadership Team at Cole Engineering with valued credentials in the defense industry.

Prior to joining Cole Engineering, Mr. Thompson served as a Sr. Vice President and member of the executive leadership team at Camber Corporation. Mr. Thompson had organizational responsibility of all contracts, security and legal matters for the company. His support spanned strategic areas targeted by the corporation, including Department of Defense (DOD), intelligence, international and commercial business.

Mr. Thompson led Science Applications International Corporation’s (SAIC) Orlando Operation for Modeling, Simulation and Training (MS&T). As Vice President of Operations for SAIC, he was instrumental in the identification and growth of key Live, Virtual and Constructive MS&T programs, most of which supported key training programs for US Soldiers. He helped build the MS&T Operation to its highest revenue point in company history, while consistently exceeding bookings and margin objectives.

DiSTI Honored as a 2011 Top Military Training Company

DiSTI and Boeing Deliver a First Class Super Hornet Virtual Maintenance Trainer

The DiSTI Corporation, a pioneer in the development of 3D virtual maintenance training technology, and The Boeing Company, have successfully delivered two F/A-18E Integrated Visual Environment Maintenance Trainers (IVEMT) ahead of schedule and within budget. Delivery of the IVEMTs by the Naval Aviation Training Systems program office to the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) will provide the simulation-based maintenance training support needed for the Australian Super Hornet F/A-18E/F jet aircraft.

The IVEMT is a 3D fully interactive virtual maintenance trainer that allows military personnel to navigate within an immersive virtual environment, interact with the virtual aircraft and support equipment, and perform over 400 simulated aircraft maintenance procedures. With two large format touch screen interactive displays, this trainer provides a realistic “look and feel” while performing the actual aircraft procedures, resulting in improved retention of knowledge and skills by the students.

AEgis Provides 3D Model Content for iPad Military Simulation Game

The AEgis Technologies Group provided 3D model content from their 3D Elements Model Library for the iPad Military Simulation game called ArmedForceHD. The game was released on August 21 by Airborne Games, LLC, and is currently being sold and distributed on iTunes.

3D Elements is a Real-Time Library of 3D models optimized for the simulation and training market. The models are also being used by analysts for homeland defense security applications. While this is not the first use of the models in a game environment, this is the first time the models have been used for an iPad game application. AEgis 3D Elements models have previously been used in VBS2 game based training environments.

“We worked with AEgis Technologies on several of our models because we liked the quality and detail of the model they provided and they were flexible in providing us the formats we like to use in our game environment,” said Victor Gerth, President of Airborne Games, LLC. “AEgis had a wide variety of models to select from, providing us creative freedom while developing the storyboard and strategies for the game.”

Intel’s Havok™ Announces Acquisition of Trinigy

Creative Technologies, Inc., Takes International Film Festival Silver Screen Award

Creative Technologies, Inc. (CTI) announced today it received the US International Film & Video Festival (http://filmfestawards.com/) Silver Screen Award for its video/film production for the opening of the 27th Army Science Conference. CTI wrote, produced and edited the video depicting the US Army’s focus and investment in technology and the military’s challenge in predicting future requirements in an uncertain future. Over the last six years, CTI has been honored with awards from the US International Film and Video Festival 22 times.

Virtual Clearance Training Suite (VCTS) Award for AEgis Technologies

The AEgis Technologies Group is part of the FAAC Team that was awarded a $63.4 million contract for the Virtual Clearance Training Suite (VCTS) by the U.S. Army Program Executive Office of Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI). FAAC is a member of the Training and Simulation Division of Arotech Corporation (NasdaqGM: ARTX). The VCTS contract requires the development and delivery of training systems to train the ever-evolving tactics and techniques used by the U.S. Army to combat Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), and includes driver training simulators for Route Clearance vehicles as well as other robotic systems trainers. AEgis will be responsible in the first phase for designing, fabricating and delivering 56 Talon Mark IIIb robot training simulators. Talons IIIb robots are used primarily for removing or destroying IEDs or other bombs without putting war fighters or law enforcement personnel at risk. The subcontract also includes an optional second phase to build six simulators for the Light Flail system which is a remotely operated, track propelled, armor plated system designed to clear anti-personnel (AP) minefields.

Adacel Announces Appointment of Three US Resident Board Members

Adacel (ASX:ADA) announced today that the Company has modified its formal organizational structure to include three United States resident citizens as Outside Directors on its North American Board. These members will act to insulate the Company’s US operations from foreign ownership where US interests are concerned.

SAIC Pledges Additional $200,000 to Project Lead The Way (PLTW)

Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) (NYSE: SAI) announced today it will continue its enterprise-wide program to help inspire, engage and educate students in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education by pledging an additional $200,000 to Project Lead The Way (PLTW), an organization with demonstrated results in the STEM arena. CryENGINE® licensed to Nova Technologies for the support of Special Operations Forces Requirements Analysis, Prototyping, Training, Operations and Rehearsal II

RealTime Immersive Inc., a simulation and serious games studio established to support CryENGINE® licensees, announced today that Nova Technologies has licensed the CryENGINE® and the support services of RealTime Immersive for the support of the Special Operations Forces Requirements Analysis, Prototyping, Training, Operations and Rehearsal II (SOF RAPTOR II) contract, supporting a capabilities assessment  of technologies to assess a Virtual Mission Rehearsal (VMR) environment.
