NCS to Host Breakfast Meeting with Industry on Economic Gardening, Thursday, August 12, 2010

The National Center for Simulation, in partnership with the Florida Economic Gardening Institute, will host a breakfast meeting with Industry to introduce the GrowFL program.

Background on GrowFL:

To assist with supporting growth businesses the Florida Legislature funded the Economic Gardening Initiative called GrowFL.  The goal of the GrowFL program is to grow and retain Florida businesses!

This Breakfast meeting will include a panel discussion with:

  • Waymon Armstrong – President, Engineering and Computer Simulations and a GrowFL program graduate
  • Tom O’Neal – Executive Director, Florida Economic Gardening Institute
  • Eric Ushkowitz – Director, Metro Orlando Economic Development Commission
  • Steve Quello – President, CEO Nexus and GrowFL CEO Forum/Roundtable Facilitator
  • Inez Long – President/ CEO– BBIF- Economic Gardening Business Loan Program

The GrowFL program offers services to help push businesses to the next level.  These services are provided at no charge to qualifying companies.

Services Include:

  • CEO Forums and Roundtables
  • Core Strategy Review
  • Market Research and Competitive Intelligence
  • Web Marketing /Search Optimization Review / Social Media Strategies
  • Graphical Information System Research

Qualification Criteria:

  • Employ between 10 and 50 people
  • Generate at least $1 million but not more than $25 million in annual revenue
  • Operate in the sectors of:  Manufacturing; Finance and Insurance Services; Wholesale Trade; Information Industries; Professional, Scientific & Technical Services; Management Services; and, Administrative and Support Services.
