From the Desk of Lee Lacy, Ph.D., C.M.S.P.

Chairman, NCS Board of Directors

Dear Fellow Members:

The NCS Board of Directors is elected by member companies representing the modeling and simulation (M&S) community.  The Board, after thorough research, evaluation, and comparison with similar industry advocacy groups, has voted to increase membership dues effective January 1, 2010.  This dues increase is only the second increase in NCS’s 16-year history and the first in over five years.  We are sensitive to the impact this change will have on our members, but felt it was necessary for NCS to maintain strong advocacy and continued support to the membership.

With our new President/ Executive Director onboard, LtGen Tom Baptiste, USAF (Ret), NCS is positioned to add substantial and greater value to our members, the community, M&S industry, academia, and our government affiliates.  You are invited to attend an upcoming annual membership meeting on 6 April when we will introduce your new NCS President/ Executive Director.  In three short weeks , he has been on Capitol Hill to brief the economic impact of M&S on Florida to Florida Representatives, has engaged targeted Congressional Districts for their support for FY2011 Congressional plus-us in support of member company proposals, and has been quoted in local media in support of our industry.  Your membership benefits include:

1.     Representation at the local, state and national level,

2.     Networking opportunities,

3.     Inclusion on the updated NCS website

4.     Business development information and leads, and

5.     Sponsored technology demonstration events.

The NCS Board recognizes the important role that NCS plays within the M&S industry, and will continue to pursue ways to strengthen that role in the years to come.  Attached is the latest member rate sheet.  Please take a moment to review and verify that your company is placed in the correct category.  Dues are based on the number of employees for your organization.

Your continued membership is very important and we look forward to introducing you to your new President/ Executive Director.  The Membership Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at Stoneybrook East Country Club, from 4:00- 7:00 PM.  Expect a follow-up announcement that will identify a point of contact and provide an opportunity to RSVP for the event.

We look forward to your continued involvement and to seeing you at the meeting.

Sincerely,

Lee Lacy, Ph.D., C.M.S.P.
