I/ITSEC 2011 Plans Medical Simulation Training and Education Events

I/ITSEC 2011 is featuring a plethora of medical and healthcare oriented medical simulation events and educational opportunities.   Starting on Monday Nov 27th, the program offers two tutorial sessions featuring the new Orlando based VHA SimLEARN organization headlining by Dr Haru Okuda, MD,  SimLEARN Medical Director and a joint session presented by UCF Institute for Simulation and Training Deputy Director, Dr Brian Goldiez, and Dr Terresita Sotomayor from the Army's Simulation Training Technology Center (STTC).  Ten paper presentations are on the program starting on Tues Nov 28th through Thurs Dec 1st.   In addition, there are approximately 75 organizations exhibiting that feature medical simulation products or components useful in medical simulation and training solutions.  The exhibit hall only is open to the public with a no fee registration.  On Wednesday, Nov 30th, the program features a 90 minute medical simulation Special Event entitled  "Medical Simulation: A Vision for the Future" moderated by Ms Beth Pettitt, Chief of the Army STTC Medical Simulation Division.  The event features SimLEARN's Dr Okuda, Florida Hospital Nicholson Center for Surgical Advancement Chief Technology Officer, Dr. Roger Smith, among a number of other key leaders in medical simulation from across the country.  The medical simulation events schedule wraps up on Friday Dec 2nd with two post-I/ITSEC Professional Development Workshops including a Robotic Surgery and Surgical Simulation Workshop for Surgical Advancement at Florida Hospital Celebration Health Nicholson Center.   Please download the summary of the I/ITSEC Medical Simulation, Training and Education Events for complete details.  For addtional IITSEC information and registration, please visit the conference website at www.iitsec.org.
