Event Description
Background:
The planning committee for this event includes U.S. Rep. Bill Posey, Florida Tech, the Technology Research and Development Authority in Melbourne, the Economic Development Commission of Florida’s Space Coast, and the Melbourne Regional Chamber. Harris Corporation is the premier sponsor for Florida 2011 TechXpo.
The mission of TechXpo is to showcase the technology innovations and resources available in not only Brevard County, but also in Central Florida and the State of Florida. There is capacity for almost 80 companies and agencies to showcase their resources and innovations. It is already lining up to be a who’s who of regional industry and government participants.
This event begins on Oct 10th with the VIP Awards Banquet featuring national awards from Congressman Posey for various innovative achievements. The dinner features a keynote by Jim Thomas, former CFO of MapQuest. It continues through Oct 11th in the Clemente Center exhibition hall at FIT. Partners like the Florida High Tech Corridor, Space Florida, US Chamber of Commerce, our local EDC, Central Florida Partnership, Tampa Bay Partnership and Florida MEP are promoting the event across Florida, targeting attendees from companies and corporations looking for technology resource suppliers.
Additionally, the committee is planning a luncheon with Dr. Ro Choon Hee, the president of the Korea Urban Regeneration Institute, which has signed an MOU with Florida Tech for strategic initiatives. Those plans will be discussed at the luncheon and an award will be presented to Dr. Ro.
