VCom3D, Inc. - Simulation Database Engineer

Position Description

Provide simulation database creation, research into new database generation technologies, and support for new business development.

Education Required

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent and a minimum of 5 years experience in a related area. Must have performed in a simulation database engineering position within the past 3 years.

Experience Required

  • Shall have 5 years experience in database development, with a minimum of 3 years applied experience in virtual and distributed simulations.
  • Shall have experience with both visual and SAF database generation.
  • Shall have significant experience in synthetic natural environment terminology and concepts.
  • Shall have applied experience with multiple database generation and visual modeling toolsets.
  • Expected to have published or presented to simulation and/or visualization conferences.
     

Desired Skills/Experience

  • Large simulation terrain services such as CCTT, AVCATT, and OneSAF.
  • Modeling and simulation of individual combatants, Multiple Elevation Structures, and dynamic terrain.
  • Following tools (or closely related): Presagis’s TerraVista, Terrasim’s TerraTools, ESRI toolsets, and Presagis MultiGen Creator.
  • Database or model repositories/libraries, SEDRIS, and/or distributed simulation protocols (e.g. DIS, HLA).
  • Past experience on both large simulation programs and smaller research efforts, as well as demonstrated leadership in advanced technologies and research related to simulation database generation.
