
SAAB Training USA LLC/ Project Manager
Position Description
The Project Manager is assigned to facilitate and monitor contracts and to ensure that all delivery conditions are met. The PM will review and become familiar with the contract requirements, generate purchase requests, coordinate the efforts of Engineering, Proposals, Contracts, Purchasing, Finance and Sales to solve any problems, and ensure timely and quality delivery. Periodic progress reports, internal configuration requirements, customer interface, and a final summary analysis of the project also fall under this responsibility.
Education Required
A combination of education, technical training, and work experience with live training products, system training and troubleshooting is required.
Experience Required
- Must have a minimum of five to seven years of leadership experience supervising employees/subordinates;
- Requires experience in technical project management;
- Requires five to eight years of related experience in assigned functional area;
- Certification or proven ability in Acquisition, Logistics, and Contract Management;
- Knowledge of US Government range design, training, gunnery, and marksmanship procedures;
- Experience reading and understanding blueprints, schematics, and other technical drawings;
- Marine Corps experience or exposure is highly suggested as this position requires a high level of understanding of complex Marine Corps environments.
Desired Skills/Experience
- Candidate must be creative, hard working, and a team player;
- Requires knowledge and use of personal computers and applications, (for example, Microsoft Office Suite [Word, PowerPoint, Project, and Excel], and the ability to learn Saab Training Systems’ proprietary applications);
- Demonstrated multi-tasking ability, analytical skills, problem solving skills, and a consistent record of on-time delivery and customer service is mandatory;
- Must have strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
Principle Duties
- Responsible for the successful execution of the project, including meeting or exceed financial goals, quality of product/service, on-time delivery, and maintenance and successful perpetuation of customer relations;
- Executes projects in accordance with awarded contract requirements;
- Leads a project team’s effort towards meeting goals;
- Plans production, delivery, installation and training with customers and project team;
- Manages logistics within project such as preparing shipping documentation, organizing shipping/transit of deliverables, placing purchase requests, negotiating delivery time and locations;
- Negotiates changes in scope, price, delivery, and performance with customers;
- Reports project progress to management;
- Controls cost within the framework of contract/proposal;
- Requests, coordinates, and schedules the use of resources within the company;
- Compiles, updates, and communicates project plans within the company;
- Mitigates project risks by anticipating issues and providing immediate resolution where and when required;
- Prepares progress reports and final summary analysis;
- Adheres to internal Business Contract Award Management (BCAM) and Business Management System (BMS) policies and procedures in accordance with the company’s adopted directives;
- Responsible for configuration management;
- May supervise a team of employees.
