Position Description
The Software Engineer prioritizes, analyzes, plans and develops accurate software requirements and effectively designs, implements, tests, maintains, and documents software products and systems in adherence to project schedules and objectives, and in accordance with department processes and standards. Candidates with prior experience in software field will be expected to provide leadership and guidance to junior organization members.

- The candidate must demonstrate the requisite technical knowledge of software processes and methodologies.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science (or closely related discipline).
- The candidate should also be able to work in an environment of little or no on-hand documentation (candidate must have the ability to seek out solutions on his or her own).
- The candidate must have the ability to properly prioritize, status and work multiple tasks, possess intimate knowledge of all aspects of software life cycle processes and demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills.
- Salary and grade are contingent on skills and experience.
- Candidates must be U.S. Persons as defined in the ITAR, 22 CFR 120.15 (U.S. Citizenship or Resident Alien Status) and as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(20).
Principle Duties
- Conducting and/or participating in a multi-discipline engineering team supporting the life cycle activities of software products and systems and ensuring all activities are compliant with department standards.
- Analyzing product/system requirements to determine feasibility and conducting the planning and oversight of the software projects.
- Applying knowledge of object-oriented software development methodologies and programming languages to design, implement, test and document software programs and systems; implementing software systems encompassing developed computer programs, re-used/re-engineered/re-hosted code and/or commercial off-the shelf software products.

Employing development methodology to maintain the integrity of single or multiple requirements and design baselines while assessing and incorporating the impact(s) of requested changes in functionality.
Performing analysis of allocated functional and supporting systems requirements to devise product integration and test plans, operations and maintenance procedures and documentation for delivered software; providing technical advice to management.
